A scarce original concert poster for The Beatles performance at The Royal Hall, Harrogate on Friday 8th March 1963. Advertised as "Dancing for Teens and Twenties with the recording stars of Please Please Me, The Sensational Beatles". Bold green font printed on white paper. There are four horizontal folds from previous storage and general handling creases throughout. Six tape marks to the edges, remnants from its original display. One small section in the lower left corner has been reattached from the back using clear tape. A few small spots of light soiling which remain unobtrusive. 18" by 28".

The poster dates from an exciting period in the rise of the Fab Four. The Beatles second single - Please Please Me - sat atop the UK charts and just two weeks after the concert, they would release their first studio album of the same name. It would also obtain top spot in the album charts and remain there for a staggering thirty weeks!

This poster was originally displayed in local businessman Norman Lusher's record shop in Harrogate and has remained in his family's possession until now. It is sold with a letter of provenance from his daughter - several of Norman's old utility bills, business cards etc. are also included as additional proof of origin. In the letter, Norman's daughter mentions that "he would often bring the poster out to show family and friends". She also adds that 'There's an article in the Harrogate Advertiser showing a picture of my dad with the poster. He was interviewed by the local historian". You can view
 the Harrogate Advertiser article here.
