1914 Auguste Rodin letter signed (LS)
Letter signed "Aug Rodin". Sent by the French sculptor to his childhood friend Jean Limet (1855-1941). 1 page in 4, in French. In later life, Limet became his Rodin's collaborator; he entrusted him with the patina of his bronzes and photography of his works. Translated: "Le Châtelet en Brie 29th July 1914. My dear Limet, Can you come to rue de Varenne on Saturday morning at noon and have lunch together; I have to talk to you. Regards, Aug Rodin"
The letter was penned by a third person on Rodin's behalf but has been authentically signed at the conclusion. An interesting association between Rodin and his personal assistant. In very good condition; horizontal fold line and a small stain to the front page.
