A unique collection of jewellery that previously belonged to Ronnie Kray. Including a silver necklace with garnet cross pendant, consisting of six gemstones; a silver band ring; a silver St Christopher pendant. The jewellery is accompanied by Prisoner Application forms from HM Prison Wayland, dated February 1999, filled out on behalf of Reggie Kray and requesting "permission to hand out on next visit some items from my personal property which belonged to my late brother Ronnie Kray. [prisoner number] 327415. x 1 silver necklace, x 1 silver band ring, x 1 silver and garnet cross, x 1 silver St Christopher pendant." Filled out by a prison officer on behalf of Reggie Kray and stating that it has been sent to the Governor for review. The second sheet — dated February 17th, 1999 — is a handwritten and signed acceptance of the request from the Governor Walker of HMP Wayland. Also included is the original prison bag (that was sealed when we acquired it) with labels from HMP Wandsworth & HMP Wayland, and the name and prisoner numbers of both Ronnie and Reggie. A highly evocative collection of Ronnie Kray's personal items, with excellent provenance.
NB: Whilst Ronnie spent the majority of his final sentence at Broadmoor Hospital after being certified insane, Reggie spent time in several high security prisons — In 1997, he was transferred to Wayland Prison, a Category C prison, in Norfolk.
