Seeded #2 in the tournament, Nadal avoided both third seed Roger Federer and top seed Djokovic in advancing to the final where he faced fifth seed Daniil Medvedev. In a classic championship match, Nadal prevailed after a marathon five-setter (7-5, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4) to win his fourth and final title at Flushing Meadows and 19th major overall. It was Rafa’s second grand slam—after winning at Roland Garros—during an outstanding 2019 season in which he finished 58-7 overall and reclaimed the world #1 ranking.
The purple Nike player-exclusive zip-up jacket has a black Nike swoosh sewn on the left chest and Nadal’s “Raging Bull” player logo in black on the right chest. A well-worn “Custom Athlete” white tag hangs inside the collar and a “FA190209EAG CUSTM” coded Nike tag is located inside the left lower side adjacent to the wash instructions. The uniformity of the design would normally make a photo-match very difficult. Luckily there were so many close-up shots taken of Nadal during the trophy presentation that the intricate details of the right sleeve and lower zipper were deemed conclusive by the experts at Resolution Photomatching.
