An extremely desirable handwritten poem by Tupac Shakur, penned entirely in his hand and signed at the conclusion. The celebrated rapper, actor & poet is best known for his gangsta rap persona, but demonstrates his oft-missed softer side in this original poem, titled “If U Knew…”. A touching ode to an unknown paramour, Shakur penned five stanzas of heartfelt poetry on the 8 ½ x 11 inch piece of paper. “If U Knew…” is printed above the first line, and the poem begins with the couplet “If u knew how much I loved you / It would put fear into your heart”, continuing in this vein for the remainder of the poem. The final stanza reads “2 do all I can 2 prove to u / My burning heart is true / And from this day 2 eternity / I’ll always love u”. Tupac closed the poem by writing “if only u already knew” and signing his first name. Written entirely in black ballpoint pen. With multiple creases and moisture stain/ink smudge along the right edge. The poem is accompanied by signed affidavit's from record executive Atron Gregory and Charles Fuller, former Road Manager and partner of Shakur's, stating that Tupac personally gave him the poem. The handwriting has been authenticated by JSA and comes with their letter of authenticity, certification number Z78138.
