We are pleased to offer a genuine rarity in the form of an original handbill / program used to advertise Bob Dylan’s first-ever concert, at Carnegie Chapter Hall in New York on November 4, 1961. Prior to this show he’d only played club dates and a few guest spots on multi-artist bills. Dylan played “Pretty Peggy-O,” “Black Girl (In The Pines),”Gospel Plow,” “1913 Massacre,” “Backwater Blues,” Young But Daily Growin’,” “Fixin’ To Die,” and “This Land is Your Land" in front of a whopping fifty three people!
Consisting of an 8 1/2” x 11” sheet printed on both sides and folded in half. It shows a classic image of Dylan on the front with details of the concert. The remaining pages feature a charming biography of the soon to be icon, along with information on the Folklore Center. In very good vintage condition, with signs of age toning, minor foxing and a diagonal crease across the lower left corner. Inconsequential paper loss to the bottom page two.
