1966 The Beatles original German concert poster (Bravo Blitztournee Tour)
An original concert poster from The Beatles 1966 Bravo Blitztournee tour of Germany. The superstars arrived in June 1966 for a three day, six concert tour, playing shows in Munich, Essen and Hamburg. It was their first visit since 1962 and this time, Beatlemania infected not only the fans, but also the media which had long been covering the ascension of the "four choirboys from Liverpool" with more suspicion than curiosity. This poster was the only one made for the tour and used to promote all of The Beatles performances in 1966. The concerts were initiated and sponsored by the German youth magazine Bravo and organised by promoter Karl Buchmann. It would be the only German tour that the Fab Four completed.
This is an authentic first printing poster from 1966. It measures 23 1/4″ x 32 3/4″ and is in good vintage condition. The original folds are present as this is how the posters were issued off the printer. Many years of previous display have caused the red ink to fade significantly. One small piece of paper missing from the top edge (in Lennon's hair). Minor splitting to the edges of some fold lines have been professionally reinforced from behind.
