A remarkable autographed cardstock promo photo produced especially for a one-off concert at the Sporthalle in Cologne, Germany, on January 13th 1969. Distinctly signed in bold black felt tip, "Jimi Hendrix." Hendrix did an in-store signing at the Du Monde Book & Record Shop in Germany on the 13th January, where he signed these card photos to promote his concert appearance later that evening. In very good condition, with a heavy centre crease and several lighter corner/handling wrinkles. The photo card measures 5.75 x 4".
The autograph session at the Du Monde Book & Record Shop was the only in-store signing that Hendrix ever did—had it occurred in New York or London, it would have been absolute pandemonium. News footage of the event shows a relaxed atmosphere as he signs these special promotional cards for fans, with sketch artists also covering the event. Later that day, the Jimi Hendrix Experience performed a fantastic set that included 'Foxy Lady,' 'Voodoo Child,' and 'Purple Haze.'
