Letter signed "Aug Rodin". Sent by the French sculptor to his childhood friend Jean Limet (1855-1941). 1 page in 4, in French. In later life, Limet became his Rodin's collaborator; he entrusted him with the patina of his bronzes and photography of his works. Translated: "Le Châtelet en Brie 29th July 1914. My dear Limet, Can you come to rue de Varenne on Saturday morning at noon and have lunch together; I have to talk to you. Regards, Aug Rodin"
The letter was penned by a third party on Rodin's behalf but has been hand signed by the founder of modern sculpture at the conclusion. An interesting association between Rodin and his personal assistant, mentioning the famous address at rue de Varenne, where the Musée Rodin is now situated. In very good condition with a horizontal fold line and a small stain to the front page.
