A sublime official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, taken by Dorothy Wilding in 1952. The 11.75 x 9.25" image is affixed to its original photographers mount. The Queen has signed, "Elizabeth R / 1952", to the lower mount. This image of the newly ascended Elizabeth II is very similar to the portrait that was used for the Wilding series of definitive postage stamps of Great Britain that were in use between 1952 and 1971. A beautiful portrait of the young Queen at the dawn of her reign.
Approximately 14 x 10.5 inches total size. Very good condition; toning along the top edge, minor corner creases and several small abrasions to the image.
