A large pair of wartime presentation portrait photographs of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, signed respectively below their images, "George R.I. 1945" and "Elizabeth R 1945". The portraits originally taken by Cecil Beaton, and printed by Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd., Publishers to Their Majesties the King and Queen. Matted and housed in a matching pair of modern, lightweight frames. 73.5 x 54.5cm. With the help of Buckingham Palace, the portraits were displayed in a camp for returning soldiers, where it was hoped they would improve morale.
