Queen Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, 1837-1901. A pair of HM Queen Victoria's used black and cream silk stockings. Fine stockings of black silk with embroidered clocking, and cream silk feet and bands at top. The bands with openwork imperial crown surmounting the initials 'VR' [Victoria Regina], and with the digits '20' below; a number system was in place, so that the Queen would wear her undergarments in rotation. Cotton finger loops at the top. Generally very good condition for their age, with a few spots of foxing. 76 cm in length.
