Presented here is an exceptionally rare piece of early David Beckham memorabilia. Back in 1990 a fifteen year old Beckham was selected by the Essex County School's F.A. for their American tour. A young girl found herself sitting next to the future international superstar on a flight from London to Dallas, Texas, where young Becks was to participate in the noted youth soccer tournament The Dallas Cup. In a further Dickensian twist, it just so happened that Beckham was to be staying as a guest in the home of this young woman's close friend, and so the pair became good friends (read had a crush on each other) over the two weeks that David was stateside. When the sad day of parting came, Beckham offered the young lady his identification card as a memento, and we're pleased to present it to our bidding audience today. A small (1 x 1.25") snapshot of the most photographed athlete in the world is joined by a youthful and perfectly rendered autograph on the 2.25 x 3.25" card. Beckham's "Essex County Schools F.A." pin-back button is clipped to the upper left corner. Also included in the lot is a lapel pin once belonging to Becks, bearing the seal and name of the "English Schools Football Association." Included are four personal snapshots taken by the young lady's family, each picturing the teenage Beckham and a copy of the Daily Mirror from Dec 2007 which carries a double page story about the items & Becks' relationship with the girl. The signature on the ID card comes with full page letters of authenticity from PSA & JSA. This has to be one of - if not the - earliest David Beckham autographs available.
