An superb portrait of Prince Albert in military attire by Vandyk. The 4.5 x 6.5" image affixed to its original 8.25 x 10.75" studio mount, boldly signed on the mount in ink, "Albert, 1920-21". The mount featuring a Vandyk London embossed seal. In very good condition, with light toning to the edges of the mount, most likely from previous framing. A fantastic image of the future King George VI, who couldn't possibly have envisaged the future events that would lead to him being crowned King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions.
